A few years ago, I use to be a trail guide in the Griffith Park area, so I pretty much know that park which has over 50 miles of trails in it, like the back of my hand.

I was wondering if there was anyone in the Southern California area, or soon visiting the southern california area that would like to schedule a "Gaited Horse/Pony Play date" in the Griffith Park, and have an expearinced trail guide to help "guide" through the trails which include some awesome views like a 360 degree view of the LA Basin and Valley Area, as far east as Pasadena (about 20 miles east of LA City) and on a clear day as far west as Catalina Island from the top of Mount Hollymont.

There's multible different staging areas, and a trail even that is known among the locals as the Sunset Dinner Ride, which is a Hour and Half trail ride through the park from the Hollywood side, across a suspention bridge and "tie out" at the Mexican Restaurant that sits at the front of the world famous LA Equestrian Center, and then a hour and half ride back through the park to the Hollywood staging area.

There are pleanty of places for photos, and tieing the horse to get off and walk around, and even ride really close to the hollywood sign, ride right up to the Griffith Park Solar Observatory, ride through haunted parts of the park, and even down to where the infamous "Bat Cave" is that was a filming location for many Batman movies and the origional live action tv series.

Please let me know if anyone is interested and then we could arrange a date/time.

Sounds like great fun but I am trailerless at the moment.  If and when I get one I just might take you up on the offer.  The Mexican restaurant there is good.  I've eaten there a time or two when I've been showing at the LA equestrian park.

Just bumping this up as the offer still stands for anyone who wants to go! I'm kind of getting tired of riding with the inexpearinced people at my barn that aren't confident on their horses and can't even control them. I don't need my pony learning any bad habbits out on the trails when I'm in the prosses of training her for SAR.

OOH!  I am interested!  Though isn't Griffith Park on fire right now??

I don't have a trailer BUT my friend does...I might be able to persuade her that we need expand our horizons!  I'm out of town for the next two weekends and then I have school starting up for my kid but maybe we can set something up near the end of sept or something..let me talk to her and see if she would be willing!  I think it would be COOL!!  :)
