Just bought my first gaited horse and was looking for an area to learn even more about him. My name is Connie and I live in Northern Illinois. My husband and I have 3 quarter/paints and Pride who is a Tennessee Walker has just joined our family! My paint was killing my back since I am now getting old and not quite so flexible .
I will still enjoy my girl, but I am also have a ripping good time on this guy!!

Welcome Connie,
Glad to have you here with us. I'm sure you will find this board very informative and the find the members to be very friendly. I invite you to visit the home page to read the gaited horse Training articles and FAQ's written by our hostess, Brenda Imus. The content of these will serve you and your gaited horse well.
I hope that you will be able to post pictures of all your equine family. The gang will be asking . . . and we do love pictures.

Hi Connie, congratulations on your new horse! I, too, have found gaited horses to be a relief to my poor aching back.. I suspect that many (ahem) maturing baby-boomers feel the same way.
Welcome to the group, it's nice to have you... hope to see you around often!

Thanks all for the welcome! I probably won't be on much right now, gotta get a lot of riding in yet while the weather is perfect here.
I will try to get photos of everyone. I will warn you all, I have a fantastic camera but I am a total flop as a photographer. I can have them framed perfectly and someone will always turn their head at the wrong time.

Hi from Middle TN! I liked your photographer comment. I myself find a pose I like, will take 4 or 5 of the same one. My pic's come out fairly boring to some. Just like if I find a blouse I like, I'll buy the same one in several colors.

So, baby boomers are aging and about half of them are women having hot flashes. Do you think it is possible that this is the true origin of global warming?

Could be. I call them "personal summers" or "power surges". Men within hearing don't get all flabbergasted that way LOL
